The motor is on my duck boat, took it out in may to do a little fishing, motor ran fine, put it in the Garage, month later, it is flooding itself, so I assume the float it stuck, take the carb off, Clean it, motor cranks right up, hunting season comes, motor is doing great, go to take it out tonight, and it wont start again. Not a mechanic, but it has spark, and it is not flooding itself, but every time the motor sits for any amount of time, It wont start. I am no mechanic, so I could use some help.

My best guess is that maybe your fuel lines are old, and alcohol in today's gasoline is breaking them down and putting tiny pieces of rubber in your carb, blocking the idle fuel passages. Just a total guess!
How did you determine good spark? Grounding the plug on the block is not a good test.

It has brand new lines on it. I did say spark, not good spark. :(

Go to the top secret files thread beneath my name, read "Outboard Wont Start" and let us know what you find.

I looked at it, and I have tried all of that before I even asked the question (that is a great thread by the way).

The motor has good compression and spark. I think it is some kind of a fuel probelem, but with a freshly rebuilt, clean carb, I just dont know what it would be.

That I dont know. I just put it pretty close to the block and it sparked. How far should it jump?

Get a spark tester from any auto parts store for about $8. Should jump a 3/8" gap with a snappy blue spark.
