76 johnson good idle at muff no power in water

i have a 135 johnson that has good idle on land but no power in water i have good commpresson and think it carbs ....can anyone tell me the basics on further testing ....i was thinking about??swapping my 85hp carbs i have at house i khnow they have smaller bore the cly seam to be firing any help would be a big help<br />bob in philly

Hi, Bobby.<br /><br />Go to www.outboardrepairs.com<br /><br />Look up power loss and spend some time.<br /><br />Do the troubleshooting methods you will find there. <br /><br />If that doesn't fix it, come back here and tell us what you did and what you found.<br /><br />Good luck.
