'76 Merc 1500 Tower of Power Question

I picked up this motor for my "Project Carlson CV16" and when putting my outboard cables on the motor I reallized that the nut and hold-down for the shifter cable is missing. Does someone have a similar motor that they can take a picture of what this hold-down looks like so that I can make one that will work?

It is a peanut shaped cast piece of aluminum. If you take a large stainless washer, and grind off some of the metal on both sides, it will substitute pretty well.

how much of the end of the cable does it hold down? does it go all the way across where the cable end slides on, or does it only cover a little on the end?
