I need to make/repair a new internal wireing harness The insulation his flaked off and the bare copper is corroded. How is the main electrical connector removed from the lower housing? I want to reuse it and solder new wires in it. I am fully qualified to do wiring and soldering to mil/spec. I am not qualified to pay $200 for a new harness. :D

I've done the same repair for the same reasons.

The harness is secured to the cowling with a clamp and screw (maybe two, I don't recall) right where the harness comes thru the cowling. Once the clamp is removed, push/pull the harness into the motor.

You will need to trim the wires back pretty close to the plug to find "clean" wire. Be sure to record the wire colors and where they connect so you can get it back together right.
