well guys i finally got it started.so happy, but i noticed it back fired a bit when i give it gas, anyone have an idea what it can be? the engine sat for a while, i rebuilt the fuel pump but not the carb. and does this engine have a fixed timing on it like the jet ski two strokes? could that be of?

thanks

Spitting back, sounding like a mild backfire, indicates a carb slow speed restricted jet..... something causing a lean carburetor scenario.
