Kinda long but hopefully enough detail...
Ok...I just rebuilt the carbs. What a difference. It was awesome. Anyway. Yesterday put the boat on the water and ripped it up for 5 hours. No problems, had a blast! Took the boat home, about 10 miles smooth roads for the most part. Today put the boat in the water, will NOT fire. Pulled the plug wires, no spark on any of 4 cyl.
Marina mechanic walked up and pulled apart the big red main harness and jumped something out to bypass all the safetys and switches up front and it cranked but no spark still.
Put the boat back on the trailer and pulled out of the water a few feet and it fired right up but ran real rough and died. Started it again, it was a little harder to start, and it ran for a second and died. Then it would not fire again. Tried again when I got back home but it still won't fire. Can someone help me with test points with my meter. I don't have the DVA adapter and am trying not to buy one.
Also the tach doesn't work but I took it out and it rattles when you shake it so.... But the tach hasn't worked before when the boat ran fine. I dunno!?!
I am an electrician so I can follow you on your advice. I really apprectiate you brilliant boat mechanics and your extremely helpful advice. Thank you!
I orderd a CD manual off of ebay but the looser I bought it from I think is sitting in an apartment somewhere smokin' crack with my paypal money or something. In case you were wondering. :redface:
