'77 Evinrude 175 won't shift?????

I got a 1977 evinrude 175 that won't shift, i'm going to change the water impeller soon and also would like to know how this unit comes apart. It has like a thread screw at the top of the shifter link. Any ideas or help???????????

Do you have a OEM maunal. These point out the process involved fairly well.
