My trim motor operates in the down position but not in the up. I have an up and down button on my throttle to contol the trim. I have filled it with fluid. I hear a dim click at the solenoid when I press the up button. I've cleaned all the wires in and around the solenoid and still no up. I'm thinking of replacing the solenoid. Any thoughts?

Have you tried swapping the solinoids over to see if the motor will go up at all?

I had a similiar problem once, in the end it turned out to be the field coil shorting out to the motor casing.

dm

Hey Aggie,
Had the same pblm here. Since it will go down but not up, pay particular attention to the blue wire in control box as that controls "UP". Take control box off of inside transom and get it out where you can clean all wires good and replace any corroded connectors. The solenoid isn't making good connection, since it is clicking but not operating.

Just wanted to drop a note and let those who responded that I got the trim to working by replacing the solenoid as I had mentioned I might try in my original post. It's working great now. Thanks for all the input! :)
