Hi,

78 Johnson 115, model #115ETL78C. My terminal block has 2 wires on it that aren't connected to any others so I'd like to verify that everything is wired the way it's supposed to if someone can help. I have a service manual that covers multiple years, it shows terminal blocks from earlier years but not mine. I'm trying to diagnose an inoperative tach if you can tell me which one is the tach feed also. From top to bottom here's how mine is wired:

1. yellow from wiring harness connected to yellow from rectifier

2. yellow/gr tracer from wiring harness connected to yellow from rectifier

3. brown (I think, hard to tell color) not connected to anything.

4. red from wiring harness connected to red from rectifier

5. darker colored wire (hard to tell color on these old wires) not connected to anything. This wire is +12V with key on.

The wires on terminals 1+2 go into wiring harness with the 2 wires that feed powerpack, the other 3 go into a separate part of harness.

Thank you!
Joe

And there's a metal jumper between 2 and 3.

Thank you, I have the metal jumper too but didn't see it until now. So I guess it's wired ok. I think the gray wire is tach so I'll check the contacts across the jumper and check continuity up to the tach.

Joe
