I know the topic of a motor has been done many times infact I searched and found something tha may help but dont think so. Heres the issue which is long. We boat a boat used had no motor, found one with and bought that for the motor, throttles etc. This past week we removed the engine, out it on the boat we want. pulled throttle cables and steering and installed that. saturday I spent half a day searching for everything needed to get it running such as fuel tank, fittings, gas hose with pump etc etc. Sunday i decided to see if it would start so i went an got fuel. Brought home hoked everything up tried to start it and it didnt start.
My brother and I checked, Spark, the starter engages and rotates the flywheel and a great speed. We also had a problem that the prop was spinning when we tried to start it found out the throttle cables werent going into neutral fxed that. The issue at hand is it isnt starting, the pump in the line isnt staying hard its always soft. I dont know if this is due to the motor or due to me messing up the installation of the fittings to the gas tank. The tank is removable so you can go and get fuel without taking the boat. should I have used some type of threading tape between the fuel tank and the evinrude fittings?
