I just got this boat. It is alittle rough but a good runner but I want more power could I put a fully dressed 350 marine engine in it if I regear the out drive or maybe a inline 6 or rebuild what I have I just want to hit 40mph and love the old boat. It is a great lake erie boat but hard to ski from it will hit 28mph gps with a 4 blade 14.25x17 prop at 4100 rpm which is the wrong prop. was told to go to this prop from marina they were wrong.

you need a 15P prop...why would you want to spend so much trying to fix that boat up?? I understand sentimental value..but most people when you put it in dollars and sense they throw sentiment to the wind. with the boat market bottoming out and the economy falling like a fat boy off a cliff, make a few low ball offers on a fast boat that is already set up to go fast, you can most likely get a taker and get a better boat and save yourself a pile of cash and time.

it is doubtful you will see an increase in top end speed, your hole shot should improve..a 3 blade prop would be better for top end, a 17P 3 blade should get you a couple more MPH, and increase your RPM about 200, but you will lose some hole shot
