Finally got the entire carpet an removed and was shocked to see the condition. I thought I had to replace the floor, but it seems to me I may not have to, not unless I get some feedback from the experts.

This is what most pf the floor looked after removing the carpet. Any idea of what I can do? Should I reseal the cracks?

ITs really hard to tell , but she does look in petty good shape !! but that being said you need to take some core samples , that the only way to be positive about it !! John

It looks alot like mine. Not all boats are neglected and need full restoration. You still need to do core samples to make sure.

Did core samples on floor with positive results. I have sanded the floor and will put another two coats of resin then gelcoat before replacing carpet. Is this a good idea?? There was one soft spot that I broke away here is how it looks. The stringer is perfect foam is completely dry.

my thought is if you have one soft spot there is prob. more. the only reason you broke threw there is because the glass was either never good in that spot or somehow broke away. if you have good wood under the glass there wont be any braking, if you have good glass on the deck there wont be any breaking. i would look at the fact that a small portion of your deck rotted out and make sure your right. as far as I'm concerned that's a little far fetched. not saying your wrong just saying i doubt your right. I agree, but should this be that I replace the entire floor or just that piece?

I would take the time to do it right and re-do it all. If you plan on keeping it that is....if not and you want to be cussed by the future owner, patch it up.... I am in the process of redoing my mark twain and the stringers are perfectly fine, however I am going to go ahead and pour them with sea-cast along with the transom, that way I never have to worry with them again. (I am planning on keeping her till she sinks or rots:D)

i would replace the whole floor if "some" is rotted!! it's just the right thing to do. just like this guy said if you finish a part of the floor then the floor will be partly finished. if partly finished is OK with the person that is partly finishing then partly finished is OK. "that was funny" anyway just do it right and then you can be proud of what you have TOOCAN

Yep I agree , you cant tell really how far the rott has spread , and you will have to replace other parts in a year or two, I say do it the frist time and get her done so you dont have to go back !! John

pour them with sea-cast what is sea-cast. By the way the floor does not seem too difficult to remove. I go ahead and redo floor.
