I have a 78 Johnson 70HP motor. Recently, mechanic replaced the stator, coil and cd box. The coil and cd box were used. The motor starts and idles fine. I can race the idle and it really runs really well. When putting into gear, the motor has no power, and often immediately dies. Compression tests on the cylinders were all good. Taking it back to mechanic tomorrow, but curious if others have thoughts?
