this motor has not been run for a long time..cleaned carb, changed lower end fluid which showed it had turned nasty from water intrusion, rebuild water pump.
got it running with the ears on it and later noticed grey oily gunk on the ground. the oil had been just changed..it has not been in the water yet.
i did make a boo boo and revved it up for a bit in gear..i forgot i had it in gear..probably should not be working on it with a bad head cold.
i would think if it was a prop seal it would have leaked green oil..not grey.
is it possible that it is just unburned two stroke oil and i need to clean out the engine with an additive through the carb?
thanks for the help guys!

i have another issue i will post seperately.

unburned 2 stroke oil mixed with the water from the muffs that drips out the exhaust........ no worries........VERY common. I would avoid revving up the motor while not pushing a boat.

thanks Bob.. have seen that before but i was surprised to see so much..like 1/4 cup. i am guessing it will be much less when i put the additive in the carb to get rid of the carbon in the motor.
