Welcome fellow Sunray tri hull owner. Take a look at my links, they may be of some help. Would love to see some pics, we always encourage that. As far as fiberglass goes, it depends on exactly how big an area your repairing. It also depends on what type if fiberglass your going to use and what type of resin. There is a to of helpful information on this site. As far as paint goes, I only used 1 quart of white and less than a quart of ocean blue. I used Interlux Brightsides paint. Also 1 quart of Pre-Kote primer. I put 3 coats of white and blue on the hull and 2 quarts on top. Hope this helps.

I'm thinking more like 15 yards. Probably get 20 in case you find other problems. Just curious, have you checked your transom really good? Usually if you have to replace the stringers you may have to replace the transom as well. Check for cracks, soft spots, etc. Your resin will vary. Are you using epoxy or polyester resin?

sounds good order placed. the transom is a little soggy which is no surprise...considering i payed 60 dollars for the entire boat...at this point i added a piece of ply wood to add some strength to the transome. this is a budjet build for sure.i mainly want the boat for swamping around the lake. Not the best way to fix the problem i know...but for now thats the plan. any thoughs of using an open deck board design. like 1x4 deck planks. run lenght wise with the boat.

Hey man, it's your boat, you design. But, if you want strength then plywood would be the way to go. But whatever you put down cover it in fiberglass for a long lasting repair.
