I have just put a brand new shift and throttle cable in johnson control box from 1979 115hp . The first ones were bent bad after only a few months of use and quick working.
Installed new ones shift seems to work , but throttle bent in two just as i gave it wide open throttle , cant understand what is going on maybe something in box is out of line. Anybody got pictures of the cables installed in box at neutral or got any suggestions! Im bout to go crazy !!! Oh yeah im using teleflex and these are the old style cables I pulled arm forward on motor to get to neutral and installed on control end then adjusted trunion to fit in spot.
