'79 15HP Proper Install Manual Recoil Assy

My first post and it's because I need help.

My question is how to install the recoil assy (recoil spring, cup, starter pinion, starter pulley) into it's proper position. I've read another post that mentioned placing the metal tab on the bottom of the cup into the hole in the casting. I also understand that the pinion spring slides over the tall metal tab on the cup.

My specific question is; do the metal tabs on the cup (on the topside) interface with the starter pawl and spring? Can't find a pic anywhere that would visually explain. The starter pawl has arms with slots that must mate with something, right?

Thank you!! that link answered all of my questions. The aftermarket service manual I bought was deficient in a lot of areas. The recoil starter was just one of them.
