'79 85hp evinrude, power packs?

My 1979 85 hp evinrude is only firing on 2 cylinders. It was running fine and this problem appeared suddenly. The down cylinders are on the same side and the compression is good.---How do I test to see if the power pack on that side is bad, or if I have some other problem?

try switching packs from one side to the other and see if the problem follows.....
