hi guys sorry for being a pain but the lark witch i previously decided on is too difficult to get the plans as you have to ring up the man who designs them and order it and as its in america its getting deer just for the plans so I've had a look and I've saw these two, one is for a john boat/row boat and the other is a means of propulsion ( i think ) has anybody had any experience with these two :

are the any good for a beginners first boat and build ?? do they have any flaws or things i could change to make them a little better thanks for any help

Re: 8' john boat and fish tail

no not large guys as im trying to keep it small and simple and also the water ways i plan to navigate have tight bends and wooden i would use that design but as my dog will be with me the sides need to be high (ish) so he doesn't go over board if i enjoy making this boat for me and my dog i may begin that john boat when i get my new work shop in late winter but i think the apple pie might be best for my neeeds as its me and my dog mainly so high sides and easy builds are the best for us but i do love the design and if i enjoy building this next boat ill make that but as i said the only problem is the 8 inch sides but if anybody has any advice on the apple pie and especially the fish tail idea as im curious to how it works and most importantly if it works thanks
