I have a 1978 80 hp and need to know if one cyl can be oversized .015 while leaving the others standard. The cylinder in question is not drawing in any fuel I think becouse of low comp the bore is about .011 out of spec at the top of the cyl. That cyl had overheated on the previous owner and he just put a new piston in and could never get it to run right becouse it was not pulling any fuel while it had 80psi on the comp gauge. so can it be done??
Thanks
Chris

Should work. A friend of mine had one cylinder in his old 350 Chevy bored .030, stuck one new piston in, and put another 50,000 miles on it before he sold it. It's actually better, imo, to bore one hole than to overwork the other holes trying to make up.

I think it should work too. But has anyone here actually done this to a mercury two stroke and had it work out okay??? I have concern about it not having equal comp with the cyl it shares a reed and carb with and the same thing happening again???
Am I on the right trake of the cause of no fuel in that cyl???
Thanks for any input
Chris
