Hello-
I have a Crestliner 1850 Fishhawk and primarily fish walleyes. But the bow mount trolling motor (65lb) does not hold up on rough lakes or wind. So I currently back troll with the console, which is kinda tough to control and fish.
I am thinking about getting an 80 lb transom mount tiller trolling motor, but not sure if I should go with just a small kicker motor and back troll? The electric would allow for greater boat control and allow me to forward troll. And I know you get more output with a rear mount tiller vs. bow mount. I am just not sure if this will have enough muscle to get me through average/above average winds and waves.
Does anyone think an 80 would do?
