Motor was given to me looks clean but had control cables cut when removed from boat and trim is missing. Question: Is there a way to jump start this motor with out frying electrical system.I am a evinrude johnson guy so mercs are greek to me. I want to see if it will turn over and test compression / run to see if it is worth putting in more $.It is super clean fresh water motor guessing on age, 4 spark plugs brown accents on cowling. Any advice appreciated.

Ayuh,... You can just hot-wire the starter to run a compression test...

Find the starter solinoid . It's between the battery cable and starter. Join the two large lugs with a sacrificial spanner. Try to join on the nuts rather than the thread so as no to damage for future service.
A fully charged battery and check your first cylinder under test again at coimpletion to confirm numbers are similar as a check of your cranking speed.

I'd suggest you leave the spark plugs in leads and grounded while testing as never wind over motor with spark plug leads disconnected.
