81 merc 120/ I/O

Looking at a Starcraft Islander with this set up. Would appreciate any tips on these power plants. Are there any special things to look out for??.......weakness'?? Also, whats your opinion on this setup in the 21' Islander?? Decent power?? Reliable?? I just want to fish with it in Lake Erie. Thanks for your help!!!!

The 120 is a great work horse, easy to work on etc. Can't tell you about the drive, I have an OMC.

Make sure you take it for a test drive and get it good and hot. Then turn it off and see how easy it starts. Many 120's have a "bog" during acceleration, which isn't an issue for a fisherman.
