'81 merc t-n-t ?

from what ive been able to gather there is an older model tnt unit that uses pistons in place of the cylinders that are on my motor now, is this a simple swap the cylinders and find a pump/do the wiring upgrade that it sounds like ?

im going to do a search but if anyone has a quick answer id appreciate it

Yep fairly simply upgrade. I did mine last summer on a 1971 Merc 800. Same TnT system was used from late 60's up till 1985ish. I had to make one of the fasteners that was missing from the unit I bought.

Biggest challenge will be to find a used system in decent condition. You will need the following parts .....
- external pump/reservoir
- mount for the pump/reservoir
- four hydraulic hoses
- two hydraulic rams
- two hydraulic ram mounts
- three button control panel c/w cable
- assorted hardware

You will need to remove part of the existing reverse lock linkage as well.
