'82 90HP Mariner...any good??

Just wanted to get some feedback re: a boat/outboard that I recently bought. Is anyone familiar with Aquastar boats? If so, are they a fairly decent boat...The motor is an 82 90 Hp Mariner, inline six. Are there any inherant problems with this motor. When I was asking around before I bought the boat, I had heard that these motors were very reliable and fairly bulletproof, is that the case?? <br /><br />Thanks all for your input<br /><br />James

Well,not exactly bulletproof. They are in realitiy, a Merc inline six. These engines aquired the nickname "Tower of power" ,due to the awesome power they deliver, both out of the hole, and thru the entire power band .<br />They are fairly reliable.<br />I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy one if the compression and lower unit inspection check out, and the price is right, and I had the greenage to spend on it
