I have an 82 Johnson J-35 ELCND outboard that has very few hours on it and hasn't been run for a few years. It starts and runs but the idle and higher RPM is very erratic, won't maintain speed and seems to miss and load a cylinder then it fires hard. I can't get it up to high RPM as it cuts out.<br /><br />I just rebuilt the carburator as the float was hanging up and fuel ran out of the carby. I'm not familiar with the electrical system of this engine and have no manual. Any ideas?<br />Thanks!
