my engine came with a tach when i bought it.used of course.anyway on my 77 115 johnson the tach setting was 6p(teleflex tach)the setting on this tach(70hp) is 12p but my tach dont seem right.it said my motor was turning 6700rpms but it didnt sound like it was running that high.is the setting on the tach wrong or what would happen if i changed the setting(blow any electrical parts?)thanks for the help.
