The 82 timer base and stator should fit the 77. You would have to swap the main engine harness also, so everything plugs in correctly. You will find that the 77 has one power pack mounted on a bracket. The 82 has two, mounted to the side of the engine. Likely the 77 block will not have the dual power pack mount holes, and those packs need to be solidly grounded. The 82 has a voltage regulator, which the 77 does not have. To make sure everything works out ok, you probably should re-time the engine at max spark advance-done at 5000 rpm, under load. Both #1 and #2 cyls.
