Do the larger V4 Evinrudes have a thermostat that will delay water from being ejected from the tell tale when started?

What year is this motor?<br /> On My 86 Evinrude V4 90hp the tell tale is showing water as soon as it starts.

Mine's an 90hp 82. I have a small 5 hp Johnson that shows immediately, too.

It should pee immediately. Make sure your pee tubing is not clogged
