83 115 johnson RPM'S

What is the recomended rpm speed for this motor right now at idel it runs at 10,000 rpms with out load is this high or not.

I assume you mean 1000 rpms at idle.4500-5500 is the wide open throttle range. Charlie

thanks Charlie yes 1000 it is running 5500 - 5600 wide open but did not no if 1000 was to high at idel.

1,000 rpm is a bit high. You want around 6-700 rpm in gear. Back off a bit & give it a try.

OBJ this is out of the water maybe in the water the RPM'S will go down or should i back it down out of the water

Set the idle in the water and in gear. The backpressure of water in the exhaust housing will bring the idle down somewhat.<br /><br />Good luck!
