Need to replace the impeller on my B100. All posts I can find refer to disconnecting the shift shaft by loosening a "locknut" midway down the housing. My shift shaft runs through a solid housing and is "invisible" all the way down. Can anyone offer the procedure for disconnecting the shift shaft on this motor? Should I disconnect at the top of the shift shaft?
Thanks for your input.

Be ready to take notes or print, have the 1/4 wobblies handy and let's get started.First ,you are now looking at the powerhead end of this unit. There is no coupler between there and the gearcase.Next ,pull the engine cover off and watch how the whole mechanism works at the top under the front of the engine. You will notice a little clevis with a cotter pin through it that sits under a roller. That is the shift shaft realease and the gearcase will not come down until you unscrew it.Getting to the point of unscrewing that clevis gets a little lenghthy so let me know if you're with me so far.

Great. Now you will have to get alot of stuff out of the way to access that clevis to save yourself time and alot of frustration.First, get the nuetral switch out of the way.It wraps around those 2 fins on the shift handle shaft.Just unbolt it and move it out of the way.Next shift the unit to reverse and unbolt that fin. Then unbolt the shift mechanism that the roller rides on.Now come the wobblies.Get in there and unbolt the rectifier and move it out of the way then go after that roller.Carefull here,it's a very small bolt and you do'nt want to drop it in the nether region. Now remove the cotter pin and pin going though that shift mechanism and slide that shift handle to your left. That will release the mechanism and allow you to unscrew the shift shaft clevis.Count the turns you need to remove the clevis[usually 13-15]and the gearcase is ready to come down.Have fun.
