Getting ready to reassemble my J140tlcte. Broke the rings in #4 Cyl. I have all the F.S.Ms and parts books. It seems pretty straight forward but always like to get any advice i can from someone with experince with these motors. All the damage is repaired and I know the cause of the failure. Just wanted to know if there are any tricks or stuff to watch out for on the reassembly. Thanks

-check heads for warpage
-replace deflectors in block
-check small air bleeds behind deflectors for blockage
-be sure the rods are installed with oil holes up
-be sure to install pistons properly oriented
-be extremely careful when aligning rod caps
-check bottom of block at #4 cylinder for crack where block meets head
-follow the manual and you should be good to go
-make sure the over temp sensors and their circuitry is functioning

good luck! :)

Slim....as I said....watch the rod cap alignment.
If I were you, I would practice this on the bench a few times before jumping right in for the first time.
It only fits one way...like that broken piece of china......

Yeah, and when the caps are fitted, use a pencil or a pick on all four corners to check for alignment. The pencil or pick should not catch anywhere, it should be smooth across all mating surfaces.
