I swapped engines from a Tohatsu M70A 2 stroke, 2 cylinder, to a 83 Rude 75hp. I want to know if I can use the tach from the Tohatsu on the Rude. There are two wires yellow and white coming off the Tach that used to go to the Tohatsu rectifier and magneto. Can I use this Tach which is labeled a Tohatsu on my evinrude? There is no plug on the harness to plug this into so I am thinking I will need to get wires back to the terminal block and pick up the pulse. There is a yellow and a yellow w/ gray strip coming from the flywheel and tied into the rectifier? SHould I tie in the Tach wires to these wires? I am so close now that I don't want to blow things up.
