83 merc 120 i/o

I recently purchased a 1983 searay seville with merc 120 alpha one outdrive. everything seems to be ok with boat and motor, but i'm just wondering what type of routine maintenance need to be done on the motor/outdrive. is the water pump impellar located the same as an outboard? thanks any suggestion would help. want to keep boat running the way it is now.

Step One - Purchase a manual that covers your model Mercruiser.<br /><br />Routine maintenance will depend on conditions of where you use the boat...i.e. salt water, lake, river, muddy water. How often it will be used. There are a lot of varibles.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />Bob

thanks for replies. i'll be using mostly on weekends in local bays and rivers, saltwater.maybe run 3/4 hours on the water per trip.
