83 Mercury 25hp fuel pump (pics now)

motor runs good for about 2-5min then dies. I just bought this boat. Before i bought it ran a 10min so i was happy got it home it ran fine for at least 20min. I was doing that before i took it out the first time didn't want to get stuck. we launched the boat and it wouldn't stay running more than 3 min.

So far i have bought a new gas tank new lines. I totally bypassed everything and plug straight into the fuel pump same thing happens.

Anyone tell me what i should look for if i'm able to get to the fuel pump? Sucks there is 2 screws i can't get too without a 90 deg screw driver. So looks like i got to take the starter and the carb off to get to it.

can anyone tell me this is the right fuel pump kit for my motor? West marine also list that they have it would be great if they have it local at the store.

Try this site. There is a lot of literature on the internet about Mercs. Google it. If you cannot get what you want asking these guys, it may be time to take it to the local merc shop for a diagnostic search.

Ok i took it all apart and pot the fuel pump apart. I thought there would be springs it in but there isn't. If you see something wrong let me know i couldn't see anything. I'm going to try and find a kit for it. Pictures below.

Got another question. And they had one that looks like mine in new orleans and will have it here at 2pm.

some reason my fuel pump matches the 20hp
napa part number 18-7815
