I've had an 82 Proline 23CC for the past four seasons. It has performed well for me in many sea conditions. I'm from Maine also, so I know what kind of seas you would be facing. It has higher freeboard compared to a Mako if you have small children and are concerned about safety. The stern sits a bit low so taking a little water over the stern when idling or trolling slowly in rough water is not uncommon.
