I have a starcraft 160 ss and I was just wondering how you guys go about installing a bow mount trolling motor on these boats. If anyone has any pics I'd love to see em.

From where to where..do I measure??? Underside of the clamp to the top of
the electric motor housing??? or the entire length of the exposed shaft?
How do the company's measure their trolling motor shaft length?

I have absolutely no idea what to measure I've never bought a bow mount before not sure. I think the longer one like the 54 would be best thanks.

Yes. I really don't have any decent pics of it. The insert is removable and also fits on the floor so it can be down but still in the boat and out of the way. You want the motor head on the trolling motor low enough that if your in swells it will not lift out of the water with the bow. That's why I suggested the 54" it is a little long for a 16 SS but you can adjust the height with a thumb screw. Plus it is long enough for an 18 once you get two foot itis You will also have to add some plywood under the bow deck to handle the torque from the trolling motor.
