I just got an 84 Cruisers Avanti Vee with twin 270's. The port side is fine. The starboard runs but has engine noise. Doesnt sound like a knock but doesnt sound like a tick either. Hour meter says 370. I would like to try to isolate the problem. Seems to run well thru all RPM's. Whats a good process to find what is bad in engine other then tearing it out and taking it apart. Some have said its a sticky lifter or the exhaust valve needs to seat and to run it. Any ideas?
