I bought an 84 90 horse Evinrude VRO last year, so I don't have the complete history. I do know the fuel pump has been replaced with a newer model at some point since new. I have put about 80 hours on it this summer with no problems. Yesterday, after idling for about 5 minutes, the VRO warning buzzer started beeping. About 1 beep per second. This means the pump is not getting enough oil from the rservoir, right? The reservoir is half full.<br />If I gave it throttle, the beep would stop. If I returned to idle, it would start again. If I turned it off for a few seconds, it would start and idle with no beeping. Water pump indicator was fine and the water from that discharge was just warm to touch. No other symptoms or warnings.<br /><br />While the warning beep was sounding, I tried squeezing the oil primer bulb a few times. It was hard and did not stop the beeping.<br /><br />Do I need to replace the VRO Fuel Pump?
