84 Force 85 H.P. No start

My engine was real hard starting but was running fine. Then it would start and imediatly stall for no reason. The lower cylinder seemed to loose spark with a tester installed but hard to tell if it was the only one. I put a new coil on that cyl. but would still stall. Now I have no spark any cyl. The ign. system is a type 111 prestolite system. The dealer said they replace the entire system and don't bother to diagnose it for around $1000. thanks

Sounds like a cd module to me about 120 rebuilt or 300 new try seiler marina in florida they deal over the internet always check the module first before buying a coil there infamous for going on the force motors

Is a cd module the square boxes mounted right next to the coils? If so I got 2 of a good motor <br />but a diff, year. The 2 wires in on the modules have exactly opposite wire colors than mine. Can I just wire it my way that ran good for years or do you think it might "take out" some other component?
