84 Force 85HP No Spark one cylinder

Ok I have done all the advice I have read and I am at this point. I feel the CDI is bad I switched the cdi's around and the no spark followed the cdi in other words I had no spark on top cylinder before switch then after switch I had spark on top cylinder and no spark on bottom cylinder. Am I correct in this choice.<br /> If so does anyone have a used cdi for sale or what web site have you found to have the cheapest?

Yep, I think your diagnosis is correct.<br /><br />Where to get a CDI, well depends on your model/year of Force engine. before you buy cd box, take ohm-meter<br />check trigger wire for that cyl. to cd box.<br />Just had same trouble and the trigger was bad on <br />that cyl.They should be No. for each cyl.Unhook<br />wire from ter.block check res.if you get a reading<br />it is ok....that would mean cd box is bad...<br />randy...memphis

Darn Randy as soon as I read jss763 post I called them and they had the CDI for 79.00 including shipping! I will run your test Friday with fingers crossed that CDI is bad! <br />Thanks jss763 for the great tip!!!!!!!
