I have a 84' Merc 75hp. After i pulled it out of storage it started hard . Took it in and had the idle adjusted because the previous year it didnt idle. NOW it starts extremely hard. As soon as you get it running it runs amazing , idle's and drives fine. If you shut it off and start it back up within 30 mins of it being off it will start fine. any longer then we got problems. I dont know if it is starving for gas or flooding . If you try to rev it up in neutral it slowly GRADUALLY starts to rev up almost as if i was slowly moving the throttle forward. I put a new gas can, primer bulb in. last year i replaced the diaphram in the fuel pump ( could it be in backwards?) I also noticed last year when i choked it the butterfly in the carb did not move but if i choke it while its running it will stall out. i would just take it in but my dad and I just completely pulled the floor, replaced the foam ($150), epoxy'd marine grade plywood ( $150 for epoxy , $200 for plywood), recarpeted ( $450 alone). Im only 20 years old and put alot of money in this boat so hopefully you guys can help. It's a 84' 16'7" Sea Nymph Fish N' Ski
