I have a 1984 stringer and just ordered three seal kits for it as all three housings were leaking I was wondering if there is a manual I can get somewhere with instructions for replacing these as it looks to be a very tough job

I found mine on eBay. The only one to get is the OMC manual. The Seloc isn't very good.

Is it the actual Ken Cook Co. original manual or did you go with the Seloc one in the link I posted?

Were you able to get a .pdf of it or are you buying a hard copy? I cant find a pdf of the factory service manual anywhere. I would love to have a copy.

Im no expert, but what I can tell you from experience is to change out all that you can afford to and that needs it while you have it apart. No sense it having to remove the stern drive multiple times to do these jobs separate times.

I know the housing is aluminum so use whatever will hold to aluminum. As far as color, Im a diehard so I would go with whatever original OMC color/paint scheme it had. You'll have to do some google searching for this as I dont know. If you find the correct stuff be sure to post up your findings here.
