This past weekend I was running at WOT and had a power drop. It was as if I had pulled back to half throttle. I had my son to pump the primer bubble to see if that may help, no change. After I stopped the motor was idling rough and wouldn't even put the boat back up on plain. I checked for any signs of loose wires and/or fuel leaks and found nothing. I'm thinking switch box gone bad with the tach not working. Dose the tach connect to one of the switch boxes?

The motor has a new stator and I rebuilt the carbs about four weeks ago before the new stator. The motor did stumble once earlier in the day but picked right back up.

the tach is usually triggered off the rec or vr not switch box as posted many times here switch boxes work or fail completely it could be many things of course could be a combination of things but from what you describe i think i would take a close look at the trigger it controls timming

Tach runs off the rectifier (or rectifier if someone has retrofit it.) Disconnect and tape off the yellow wires from the stator and try it. If it flies, replace the rectifier or regulator.

hope it helps
