85' 120hp operating ??

I recently picked up an 85' 120hp VRO from an auction. Everything looked and sounded good but when I ran it at home, an intermitent beep or alarm type of sound seems to be coming from the controls. My previous motor was a 70' 85hp so this girl is like modern to me. I have no operating manual so obviously no clue what it is. Any ideas? Also any ideas where to get an operating manual? I have no idea where the choke is or how it would work? I sprayed some gas into the carbs and it eventually started up? Many thanks,

Is the oil tank hooked up or did you run pre-mix?

The oil tank appeared to be hooked up with oil in it. I ran it with straight gas, no premix. Is that beep have to do with oil not being injected?

Intermittent beeping is an oil injection system warning.

Steady horn is over heat,real slow beep is low oil level,fast beep is no oil gettin to VRO pump.You should run pre-mix until you know the oil level in the tank is going down.

If the VRO on the motor is the original, you should probably run premix until you get an upgrade or just switch over to premix and disable the oil tank.

Thanks Everybody...I will run premix, and order an operating manual. At least now I know what the beep is. There is only an inch or so of oil in the tank so the slow beep is probably low oil...again Thanks

The low oil warning commences when the oil tank is less than 1/3 full.

You might want to find a service manual.It has ALL that's in the owners manual and so,so much more.
