85 140 Looper Cooling setup

I just got a 140 looper running with a 92 115 foot (yes metalwork was involved) with yalls help here. Now its spitting water, not peeing. The fast start system hoses are disconnected. The right tstat hose goes to the pee hole and there are no vernatherms in it. All else there although needs new gaskets and 1 new tstat housing. How should this fast start be set up or should I convert this to a newer setup? Ive seen thru the microfish that the 94 newer motors went to a different setup. Also, it was peeing from the small tube but not the largeer one from the tstat cover with the bad v6 orginal foot and I did get alot of grass and junk out of the tstats and motor between peeing and not peeing.
