3.7l 190 hp I4. Just bout this boat a few weeks ago. Took it on the water for the 1st time Friday. 2000rpm max 25 mph was all it would do. 14.5x18 4 blade prop (it came with it). I know that needs to go. Can not find a recommended size I need for this boat. Haven’t tried the fuel line yet for collapsing. But this thing is a dog. Need recommended size prop.
think the 4 blade is keep this thing under rpm?

Have you checked/tested compression and spark. The prop may be fine when the motor is running right.

Moving to the Mercruiser section.

Are you sure your tach is ok?
25 mph at 2000rpm doesn't seem right.
Did you check that speed with a gps?

That's what I'm afraid of. The dead cylinder. I tried it 2 times to make sure cause I can't get the hose in all the way.

When you say the fuel system is boogered up. What am I looking for? Fuel line collapsing? Scum?

Correction on the compression check all plugs out

#1 155psi
#2 120psi
#3 120psi
#4 135psi

Butterflies in the carb are opening full throttle.
Oddly enough, I checked #3 compression yesterday. Put plug back in and found that plug snapped at the ceramic. Hmm

Another update.
I pulled the fuel filter. It was the old style ceramic filter. Maybe? Soon as a store is open will be getting one.
