I have two sets of carbs for my engine one set is part number F631061 the other F831061. Are these carbs interchangeable?

The application is a 1987 85HP.

Re: 85 HP Carburator

I entered both of your numbers into the mercurypartsexpress site and the response was the same for both.

"Part number 803921T is no longer available."

Another site listed the F631061 part number, so this may have been the original number, superceded by the F831061, which was superceded by the 803921T, which is now discontinued.

I would venture to say they will work, but may not be interchangable, jetting may be different.

I know, kind of a half answer.

Re: 85 HP Carburator

At mercruiserparts dot com 631061 comes back as 1300-803921T and 831061 comes back as 1300-803920T.

631061 I removed from the engine. 831061 I bought on ebay because I needed linkages and an air box. 831061 has a high speed needle valve, 631061 doesn't.

Can I measure the jet size?

Oh oh !!

You are correct, the info in my post above is wrong.

I was in a hurry and didn't notice the difference in the numbers.
Sorry to have misled.

Would be nice if 12footer would see this thread, I bet he would know.

When all else fails, contact www.themarinedoctor.com for info on Force motors.
