I just got my boat out of storage for summer, I start it on the hose it misses and pops out of the bottom carb, I had the carb silencer plate off. then it starts to rev uncontrolable the key wouldn't turn it off I had to manual pull the choke to shut it off. everytime I tryed to start it, it did it, after its run awhile. what makes it do that, I wasn't using the throttle or anything.

Lots of possibles, Fordhp1.

Check all linkages. . . make sure the throttle is all the way closed at idle, stator is all the way retarded, flywheel key is not sheared. Inspect the reeds.

If all that is okay, get a manual and do a complete linkage and synchronization adjustment.

Do not start the engine again until you are sure the problem has been found and fixed. Thermal runaway can destroy your engine.

Welcome aboard. :)

Thermal runaway is when the engine turns so fast that it converts itself to a Diesel and far exceeds safe rpm with no load. Result is often a blown up engine.
