Picked up a 85 Rude 4hp twin. Does this have points or powerpack? Good spark, runs fine, just curious. Lots of work just to check. One more question. Plugs are Champ's RL 78 C. This sound right? They appear to have the same paint as the block (light blue) on the metal body, Like it came from the factory that way, but maybe I'm missing something. Thanks in advance

Very unlikely it's a magneto ignition being a '85. Napa book shows '84 has a power pack 18-5758. Years 1977-80 , same pack.
Post the model number off of the welsh plug...

4 1977-80,1984 18-5758
4 1993 18-5883
4 DLX 1986-88, 1994-99 18-5763
4.5 1980-84 18-5758
4.5 1986-87 18-5763

Recommended plug now is QL86C, Champion. If the paint is the same color as the block, likely original plugs or some one in the past as touched up. Be a good idea to change them out.

Mod # B10245. Should be a pack, just don't know when they started changing over. Got these from a guy that got it new. Used very little on a Crawdad Jonboat (bought that too-indestructible). Only prob I see was a bone dry lower unit. Either it was drained, or the neutral rod seal needs replacing and washed the oil out. Seems fine after pulling it apart, so I'll stick it the water and see.
Thanks on the plug info.
